#3 - Ive TAKEN OVER!!! 12/31/2009
Hello everyone, Gilbert the fish here. Dad left on vacation the other day, but I guess things have still been going well here in the tank. The temperature is hovering around a nice, balmy 82 degrees. Unfortunately, the cat has shown a little to much of a curiosity in me since everybody left me here alone... Every time I jump it scares him though, hah! As for the feeding situation, this is where I take issue. I got some extra pellets before they humans took off, but I'm getting NOTHING for a week! I hear things like "Gilbert, relax dude it's only a week" or "Chill out, Betta fish can go 3 weeks without eating before they starve. WELL GUESS WHAT? Humans can go 2-3 weeks without eating too, but how do you think you'd feel after the first week of not eating anything? Uh huh, exctly. Now honestly, that part kinda sucks but all in all, I guess the peace and quiet around here is nice. Daddy's such a night owl hammering away on that keyboard, it's nice to finally be able to start resting my fins around a decent hour. Speaking of fins, don't ask how I typed this. Anyways, that's all from me for today, be sure to check around the website and here's to a happy new year for all of you and your finned friends, - Gilbert (No Trent this time) P.S. While you're looking around, don't forget to check out the great guide reviews and my story HERE! Add Comment #2 - A Fish With Attitude. 12/18/2009
Just a heads up to everyone, Gilbert has expressed an interest in blogging and as such I'm going to let him do entry 3 sometime next week. I'm not sure how the whole typing with fins part is gonna go, but we'll cross that bridge when we get there. So anyways... This week I want to talk about how our wonderful Betta fish pets express their love. I've been noticing lately, as I sat working on the site, that Gilbert is more and more often glued to the side of the tank closest to me. He's always looking at me, flitting back and forth and in general being happy. It got me thinking, does he only love me for the food I give him? I'd like to think he just wants to keep me company. As a fellow Betta owner, I'm sure you've realized that these fish definitely present a more interesting experience than most small fish. I've had several gold fish before... not so exciting in my humble opinion. Betta fish however, seem to be very active (when properly taken care of)... for example, I've never had a gold fish jump out of his tank and get food off of my finger... Ah, but tricks we'll save for another entry. Anyways, I hope everyone who bothers to read our stories is enjoying themselves. Feel free to leave a comment and take a look around the rest of the site. Until next time! - Trent & Gilbert First Post - Hiya From Gilbert the Fish! 12/12/2009
Ok, Ok... so my Betta fish won't actually be typing this, but I'm sure he'd love to say "hello" if he could! This post should just serve to give you a little background on Gilbert and I. Basically, Gilbert's my work partner, or the closest thing to it. He was originally my son's, but over time (and through my finding I quite enjoyed him swimming around on top of the desk while I worked) I sort of adopted him as my own, a more full version of what happened can be found HERE on my introduction/home page. He's about two years old, and with the knowledge I've gained I still consider him to be just a young to middle aged Betta. He's very lively and gets a whole lot of enjoyment out of spacious, heated, filtered, ten gallon tank! : ) Next post will be dedicated to the tricks and games Gilbert and I play... No jumping through rings of fire or anything, but hey, we still have fun! Until next time. Trent and Gilbert *splashes around in his tank* | Trent Gallamore
